Clinical Care Guidelines Published

Postby Connie Lee » Fri Apr 07, 2017 3:07 pm

This is a really big day in the history of cavernous angioma treatment. The peer-reviewed CCM Clinical Care Guidelines written by Angioma Alliance staff, our Scientific Advisory Board, and invited experts were published today after three years of concerted effort! Please share them with your doctors.

A synopsis with the critical information is available in the journal Neurosurgery at and the full text is on our website at

The patient version of this information can be found in our new patient booklet at

These guidelines offer the opportunity for consistent patient care no matter where you live. We are honored to be the recipients of your support, which has made creation of the guidelines possible. Thank you!

Wow!!! Great work!!!! Thank you to everyone that made this happen!!
Diagnosed September '09 with one CM centered in the right insular cortex/basal ganglia. Saw many, many doctors and had surgery 12/10/10 with Dr. Spetzler. I am thrilled to have this bleeding thing out of my head even though I suffered a stroke during surgery. Have had/ continue to make an amazing recovery.
