Specializing neurosurgeon near Springfield MO

Postby medevac42 » Fri Aug 24, 2018 3:52 pm

In Dec 2017 I had another craniotomy, this time at Stanford with Dr. Gary Steinberg. He did a great job and I am doing fine. I was recently transferred to the Springfield MO area, and because I have multiple cavernomas, I'm wondering who the recommended neurosurgeon might be who is closest to this area? Thanks for your help.

Hi medevac42,
If you've not done so already, ask Dr. Steinberg or his nurse's for recommendations.
Glad you're doing fine.
Best wishes & good health,
Multiple CMs throughout my brain. I have had 4 bleeds requiring surgery between 1987 and 2010. Locations of craniotomies have been: L. parietal, R. parietal, L. temporal and R. thalamus.

Here's the list of centers for excellence... If any are nearby, they can help you.

Congratulations on a successful surgery!
Diagnosed September '09 with one CM centered in the right insular cortex/basal ganglia. Saw many, many doctors and had surgery 12/10/10 with Dr. Spetzler. I am thrilled to have this bleeding thing out of my head even though I suffered a stroke during surgery. Have had/ continue to make an amazing recovery. http://www.thankfulforeveryday.blogspot.com
