Fasudil, waiting years? (well we are in the right place!)

Hi All,

So I have been completely excited about the possibility of fasudil which was making the rounds back in October with the mice study, for treatment of my less than ideally operable brainstem CM. I pinged the lead Dr. Awad and his reply:

We are still in animal work before we can do human trials, clinical trials may be starting within 2-3 years. Stay tuned with Angioma Alliance and we will keep the patient community informed.

I am sure he gets a lot of fan mail. :D Beautiful.

So we are in the right place folks. But we knew that!

Apparently Michael J. Fox's foundation looking at it now for Parkinson's. Its a maybe miracle drug!!! Thanks for FB post about this news! http://www.mlive.com/business/west-mich ... award.html ... again clinical trials years out mentioned.

But what is interesting is that the medication was already studied in clinical trial for treatment with stable angina in 2005, http://content.onlinejacc.org/cgi/conte ... 46/10/1803 . Heck this possible wonder drug seems to even have cancer fighting attributes! http://mct.aacrjournals.org/content/5/9/2158.full

... so any unproductive speculation or inside word about fasudil getting approved at all in US for anything? :) :) :)

Cheers,

Josh
Diagnosed at age 35 after brainstem hemorrhage in December 2010."1.0 x 0.4 x 0.9 cm focal lesion in the anterior aspect of the medulla most consistent with cavernous angioma." MRI in March 2012 shows growth and symptoms worsening (sigh). MRI in Sep 2012 maybe shrinking! New bleed in 2014,CM bigger, recovering OK *meh*
