Orally taken cannabis extract for severe pain

Postby MOE » Tue Sep 02, 2014 7:46 pm

Recently a friend contacted me since he knew I had been experimenting with orally taken cannabis and its extracts. Noted, some of my symptoms have subsided or reduced and some have not but as I'm not in pain I can't really say if it helps with that but I have seen several documentaries talking about its analgesic effects.

To make a long story short my friend's dad has liver cancer and is terminal. He contacted me because his dad was already at 100% morphine and still was in pain. He said just turning over in bed caused him pain and he had already been bedridden for 5 days.

He started to take a high CBD/low THC cannabis oil and not only slept well but was up and about the very next day. Went to church, went shopping with his wife, etc. Currently his oncologist is reducing his morphine intake and even though cannabis has some anti-tumoral properties and his cancer is still there, his quality of life has improved.

A few comments/clarifications on the topic:

- smoking pot doesn't count as the same thing so don't compare it to that.
- THC is what gets you high, CBD is non psychoactive but due to its low evaporation temperature its rarely consumed.
- To avoid getting high you want the lowest THC you can find.

Diagnosed September '09 with one CM centered in the right insular cortex/basal ganglia. Saw many, many doctors and had surgery 12/10/10 with Dr. Spetzler. I am thrilled to have this bleeding thing out of my head even though I suffered a stroke during surgery. Have had/ continue to make an amazing recovery. http://www.thankfulforeveryday.blogspot.com

Hello! I had been diagnosed about 4 years ago. I saw my neurologist today for the 2nd time and today she suggested I try medical marijuana. She did say she would like me to avoid the edibles and would like me to try the vapor kind. Her only reason to avoid edibles was the lack of being able to get dosing right. Its amazing the day and age we live in where doctors can now instruct patients to take something more natural than pills and pills to combat the side effects of those pills. Its amazing. Im kinda nervous to start it (never tried it before) but if itll get rid of my pain then i might be all for it!

An article I read recently said that most "medical" marijuana has little or no CDB. So this new "miracle drug" really isn't such a miracle. There's no way to know how much CDB any give strain has, so it's really a crap shoot.

Oh Kirk you should really check your sources before making such claims. There was recently certain companies selling capsules for pets containing CBD but in reality when tested they had a very low CBD content but CBD content can be verified in a lab; it just can't be done with heat because it will destroy the sample.

Several illnesses like epilepsy benefit from CBDs:

As far as CBD content, initially lots of strains had low CBD so its being bred back into the plant.

I came across this article today in my local community "paper"/online magazine http://www.hometownstation.com/santa-cl ... oil-149262
I thankfully do not have pain, but if I did....I suspect I would be looking into this option.

Good article, unfortunately THC does do a few things better than CBD, for example nausea/appetite control, tourettes, sleep apnea, etc. Still high CBD strains cover the majority of things and since it has no effect over a healthy person, its potential for abuse is quite limited.

High quality CBD Oil outlets

Postby oleblue » Tue Aug 30, 2016 7:40 pm

Hello CCM Family,

My name is Barbara and I am the wife and mother of 3 family member's who have CCM and two of them have had temporal lobe surgery and one has had frontal lobe surgery. This disease is relentless ever changing and sometime quiet and out of site and mind. It is always there, always.

CBD oil has been our safest, effective treatment with no side effects for this disease. Oregon is a legal state for marijuana. Since we have legalized here we can order "Online" through a amazing company called Realm of Caring. You may of heard of the "Stanley Brothers" in Colorado ..or Charlotte's Web CBD oil and the story of how the brothers became involved in helping treat a little girl with many many seizures per day. Dr. Gupa did a special awhile back. Link for the oil to order online is: https://www.theroc.us/charlottes-web
Here you will find a Client portal to register and click on Charlotte's Web Products and order online.

This company is a leader in quality, pure , safe, consistent product. Since CBD oil is now classified as a supplement it is not covered as a "medical prescription" and won't be covered on your insurance. If marijuana is legal in your state you can order it "Online". Helping each other until a cure is found is the core of this forum. Wishing you all a day without worry, symtoms.

Best Regards,
Barbara Curtis
